Lets Talk: Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS

Good afternoon, everyone. I suppose it's time to talk about the new Super Smash Bros. coming in 2014.

Here are obviously some screenshots of both of the games. You can see in the 3DS version that Pit is a bit pixelated and stands out quite a bit from the background. In the 3DS version, lines were put around all the characters so you can easily see them from the detailed backgrounds. Though of course in the Wii U version no line is needed. Both versions have the same characters, but different stages. The stages correspond to the game system so 3DS has 3DS or DS game based stages and same for Wii U.

  A list of characters:

  • Mario
  • Luigi
  • Donkey Kong
  • Pit
  • Samus
  • Fox
  • Olimar
  • Bowser
  • Pikachu
  • Link
  • Kirby
And also the new characters: Villager (Animal Crossing), Mega Man, and Wii Fit Trainer (Wii Fit).

  Stages for 3DS:
  • Battlefield
  • Gerudo Valley
  • Spirit Train
  • Arena Ferox
  • Mushroom Kingdom, DK, and Nintendog stage have not been named yet
  Stages for Wii U:
  • Battlefield
  • Skyloft
  • Smashville
  • Dr. Wily's Lair
  • Boxing Arena stage has not been named yet
Also, cutscenes in this game have been taken out. Read this article for further information: Article

Review: 3DS

Hello, fellow gamers. Today I'll be review the 3DS, the newest DS from Nintendo. I thought it would be a lot better if I showed my actual 3DS so lets get to it.

So this isn't what all 3DS covers look like. I just happened to get lucky. They come in a variety of colors now and special editions. As you can see it's pretty slim. It fits small hands very nicely and for those with bigger hands no need to worry, the 3DS XL has been made. It's design is the same besides the camera feature, which was added in the DSi, and the new control pad. The charger socket is larger and no longer versatileI. The game slot can still play original DS games, but we still cannot play GameBoy games on it, which is the only thing I'm disappointed about. But other than that I don't have many complaints about the 3DS. It suits me well.

Now lets take a look at the inside. There's the new control pad along with the original. The power button is on the inside, but in a place that would be hard to press accidentally. The start and select button are near the touch screen and added is the home button. The home button allows you to access this screen (home screen of course.)  just like on the Wii and Wii U. It can be accessed from 3DS games, but not original DS games (you risk shutting of the game and losing unsaved data). The screen is similar to that of the Wii and Wii U as well. It has the apps and you can also have folders. The actual 3D feature brings the games alive. It's truly amazing, but unfortunately I can't keep it on high for long before my eyes start hating me for it. Of course the 3D feature is not compatible for regular DS games. It actually shuts off when you play them. But overall, Nintendo did an amazing job with this console. I absolutely love it and welcome it greatly to my handheld console collection. Just make sure you have your GameBoy or original DS with you for those older games.

Hopefully this helped someone or at least provided some entertainment. - Dany

Through the Years: Mario and Luigi Saga

Hello, game fanatics. Here's another Through the Years post but on the topic of the Mario and Luigi Saga. I need to make a quick note that new blog posts will come out on Monday (only reason this one came out on Tuesday was because my internet was down.) I will try to keep the posts coming but I will start to get super busy because of school. Back to today's post:

The first game was different from many Mario games played before which is probably why it caught so much attention. Though it can have some similarity to Paper Mario (which came out before this). The characters were especially on the creative side. Seriously, what made Nintendo think of Beans for people and monsters? And what about that guy telling jokes to a barrel of Chuckola Cola? But anyways, the beginning of the story tells about The Goodwill Ambassador from the Bean Kingdom giving a present from Queen Bean to Princess Peach. The entire ceremony was a hoax and turns out The Goodwill Ambassador and her assistant was the evil, Cakletta and Fawful trying to steal Peach's voice to awaken the Beanstar. Now onto the main bosses:

Fawful, who is some genius bean who's famous for his "I HAVE FURY!" comment. He shows up a lot throughout the game, but meets his demise in Bowser's Castle.
And Cackletta, the final boss. I'm not gonna lie, but I always thought she was a guy despite the name.. She shows up as a boss in the Hooniversity, goes inside Bowser and takes over his body, and once you get inhaled into Bowletta you fight her spirit.

Popple and Bowser are another reoccurring boss. Bowser ends up losing his memory and teaming up with Popple.

Off from the Bean people and onto Mushroom Aliens. Same style, but slightly changed story line with the same objective of saving the Mushroom Kingdom. Shroobs come to invade the Mushroom Kingdom in the past but Mario and Luigi, from the future, go to the past to fix it and end up meeting their baby selves and teaming up with them.

The one who started this invasion was Princess Shroob. Maybe she got tired of Princess Peach looking similar to her. But she was only the beginning boss.

Her sister, Elder Princess Shroob, was the one to worry about. Once defeated, she back but using Bowser's body as a host.

Oh no! An epidemic has happened to the Mushroom Kingdom: Blorbs! Who could be the cause of this? The one and only Fawful. Fawful sells Blorb Mushrooms to the Toads and coaxes Bowser into eating a Vacuum Mushroom, which allows Bowser to inhale everything. Fawful sends Bowser back to Peach's meeting about the Blorbs and he inhales everyone.

Fawful's plan from the start was to awaken the Dark Star and take over the Mushroom Kingdom. Bowser only goes on this journey to take back his castle from Fawful, but having to use Mario and Luigi to help keep his insides clean. The Dark Star eventually enters Bowser's body as well and steals his DNA. Through that the Dark Star takes the form of Bowser.

Fawful, or Dark Fawful, gets absorbed by the Dark Star and Bowser must inhale him so Mario and Luigi can fight him in the final battle.

The new Mario & Luigi game coming out on August 11, 2013. I personally like the play the game before I start spilling out some made up story line. But I will for sure talk about this game when I obtain it.
